| When asked to write yet another biography for the artist in question, I groaned and said to simply include a hyperlink to the bio at her website, [link], instead of making me tell the same sob story all over again. Well, it's not really a sob story. It's just a matter of what to include, and what to leave out, that determines whether or not this is a sob story. You see, Brittnay's got this thing about pride... She was born July 31st, 1984, which makes her a Leo. A very odd Leo. She's a leader so's long as she's still subordinate (not only is she an artist, she's also a shift supervisor at her local Starbucks), AND she excels at being an overbearing perfectionist. However, we who know our dear Sobii think this has all to do with her upbringing. She was brought up Roman Catholic, and still practices. She's got innate abilities--prudence, perception, a keen sense of observation, and perfect pitch (she once was a musician--a violist, to be precise, but due to stagefright she strayed from that career path). She taught herself elementary Japanese, which she continued to study formally in highschool, but what I'm really talking about is the fact that she grew up too fast--and still is growing much older day by day. Her future has, in her eyes, practically been condemned simply by familial association. She had to leave school to come home and help pay bills. And debts. Debts that she did not collect. She continues to live the "work to live, paycheck-to-paycheck" lifestyle and has only those remaining in her home, along with her boyfriend, Chris, and her insatiable need to create to keep her sane. So now, she's finally stepping up to the challenge of opening up shop here, on DeviantART. She would say she's open to commissions, however, she's boxed up all her traditional art supplies. Why? Because she has to sell her house and move away with her family to "make things right again." All those things aside, she's really a good kid. She's funny and sweet, if you catch her at the right moment. She loves cute dumb Japanese things, like tamagotchis, as well as mushrooms, and late-night runs to Amphora with Chris. She appreciates life's simple pleasures. She loves napping on the couch. And she loves making me write her biographies. -Jack E. Kadence |
