The opening ceremony was awesome. When they lifted the guy up with wire, I was like "WTF are they doing?" and then when he started "running" like that...!!! And the way he lit the torch! Very awesome.

I was waiting for something to go dreadfully wrong with that presentation... Like, the wire snaps, or the torch doesn't catch the fire, or something ridiculous... I mean, I loved and appreciated the entirety of the ceremony in that every part was awe-inspiring... But the painters spinning around on the floor pulling together the mountainous terrain of the Chinese landscape was kinda like, "Oh wow, really??" for me. I really didn't expect that.
AND I'M TOTALLY GLAD THAT YOU GOT TO SEE IT. No one I know around here that I've had a chance to talk to has seen it. ;_;
Even the Olympic ANNOUNCERS thought the opening ceremony was the best in Olympic history. I loved how ever MINUTE detail was well thought out and had SIGNIFICANT symbolic meaning.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.

We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

And thanks! I love the mascots, too. I spent a good, long time perusing China Sprout for mascot-goods after I watched the ceremony...
