The "Death Cap", one of (if not THE) most poisonous/deadliest mushrooms in the world.
This is the first in a series to come of Amanita mushrooms. Those will be shown in my "online portfolio" when I get the site up and running. Which will happen after I move.
...not much else to say, really. I wasn't quite sure how to categorize this. It's a bit kinda Macabre, and it's a bit kinda Landscaping and Scenery.... Dunno. All's I know is that it's difficult to find good referencing for bones when all your useful anatomy books are in a box.
<old skool> WAVE O' BABIES!!!!!! (remember that? haha)</old skool>
I love how simple and complex this is at the same time. I mean, just the top, the little mushroom by itself, getting a little light from between the leaves of that tree its growing under in the forest. It's just wonderfully simple and beautiful (and I really dig the leaves on that plant).
And then there's the skeleton, who is feeding the grass, the plants, the everything. The way the roots come out and the positioning of the hand makes it look as though the skeleton is breathing life into the forest above it. Breathing life into the mushroom, which is deadly poisonous. And thus the cycle of life continues on and on, I suppose.
Anyway, LESS RAMBLES, MORE LOVE FOR SOBIIS. I also really like the wedding ring and the rocks under the plant and the muddy soil and the grass.

This is a great illustration, very cool composition. I read a book a while back that suggested that the great religions of India might have been developed through the influence of psychedellic mushrooms that are indeginous to the Himilayas and also to the region where the Aryans originated from before migrating south into India. It mentioned how a lot of the religious imagery from Hinduism resembles stuff that people on shroom trips describe seeing. I can't remember the specific words for these images right now, sorry. I don't know if it's real, but it was interesting to read. I think the book was called Divine Mushroom or something similar.

that is awesome. I love the concept, and it's executed very well. It's a good picture to start at the top like "aww that's nice" and then scroll down and be like "wait a minute thars a skeleton down there!"
